Your retreat is full. Will there be more retreats?

Yes! We hope to do a Grand Lake, CO Light Chasers Retreat every year. We are also planning an international trip to Iceland. We have lots of ideas for future retreats and cannot wait to share them with all of you!

What experience level do I need to have and who can attend?

All experience levels are welcome, but an understanding of shooting in manual mode will be very helpful. Our retreat is open to 18 women each year.

What camera gear should I bring?

Your camera body

A wide angle lens –we love our 24-70mm 2.8

A portrait lens –we love our 105mm 1.4mm and 85mm 1.4 lenses.

Your laptop or tablet for editing.

Memory cards

Extra batteries

USB to plug things in

Photoshop and Lightroom downloaded on your laptop,

Card reader to edit images we take together

Can I split up my payments?

Yes! A non-refundable deposit of $850 is due at time of registration. You can then break up your payments into 2 additional payments. Payments are due in Sept 2021 and March 2021.

What if I want to share a room?

Everyone gets their own little cabin. We want everyone to get a good night's sleep and for you to have plenty of alone time to recharge.

Can I get a refund?

Your deposit is non-refundable unless you are able to find another attendee to take your spot.

How much hiking can I expect?

We will be hiking 2-4miles per day, so bring your sneakers!

Do I need to rent a car?

Yes! You can try to arrange car-sharing with another attendee via our Facebook page. You will need a car to get to the hiking trails, and to drive into the town of Grand Lake, which is 10 minutes from the Grand Lake Lodge.

What clothing should I pack?

Pack layers because it does tend to get cool when a thunderstorm rolls in. A raincoat (best with a hood) is a must. A light weight puffy with a hood is not a must but one of the best things you can have in your pack. We’ll be super casual during the day. Bring jeans and shorts, short sleeved shirt and a hoodie or two. The Farewell dinner will be business casual, so bring some dangly earrings to wear with your jeans and sandals or boots.

What if it rains the entire retreat?

We have SO much to share with you that we’ll meet inside the lodge’s cozy lobby by the giant fireplace and share all of our editing techniques, shooting techniques and business strategies with you. We have a rain-plan that includes shooting creatively in the rain and plenty of indoor shooting inspiration. BUT... Colorado storms tend to roll in and roll out just as quickly. September is also the best time of year for weather in Colorado.

What airport do I fly into?

Denver International Airport

How far is the Grand Lake Lodge from the airport?

The Grand Lake Lodge is about 3 hours from Denver International Airport –we promise, it’s worth every minute of the drive (especially the last two hours)!
